Tropical Citrus Cocktail Juice

A Refreshing Blend of Citrus, Pineapple, and Ginger

Bursting with the vibrant flavors of fresh oranges, pineapple, lemons, ginger, and mint, this Tropical Citrus Cocktail Juice is the perfect homemade drink for any occasion. Sweet, tangy, and naturally refreshing, this juice combines the brightness of citrus with the tropical sweetness of pineapple and the gentle warmth of fresh ginger.

Instead of discarding the pineapple peels, this recipe transforms them into a flavorful infusion with fresh mint, extracting every bit of their natural aroma. The result is a delicious fruit cocktail that is perfect for family gatherings, celebrations, hot summer days, or simply enjoying a refreshing homemade beverage.

Ingredients

  • 25 oranges, washed
  • 10 lemons, washed
  • 2 whole pineapples, washed
  • 250 g fresh ginger
  • 50 g fresh mint, divided
  • 2 liters water
  • 1 cup cane sugar, or to taste
  • 2 packets vanilla sugar (optional)

Instructions

  1. Wash all the fruits thoroughly.
  2. Peel the pineapples and separate the flesh from the peels. Set the pineapple flesh aside.
  3. Juice all the oranges and lemons. Combine the juices in a large bowl or pitcher and set aside.
  4. In a large pot, add the pineapple peels, half of the fresh mint, and the 2 liters of water.
  5. Bring to a gentle boil, then reduce the heat and simmer for 5–7 minutes.
  6. Remove the pot from the heat and immediately add the remaining fresh mint.
  7. Cover and allow the infusion to cool completely.
  8. Once cooled, strain the infusion through a fine-mesh sieve or cheesecloth, gently pressing the pineapple peels to extract as much flavor as possible.
  9. Peel the fresh ginger and cut it into smaller pieces.
  10. Add the pineapple flesh, ginger, and some of the cooled infusion (including a few of the infused mint leaves) to a blender. Blend until completely smooth.
  11. Strain the blended mixture through a fine-mesh sieve into a large bowl or pitcher.
  12. Add the reserved orange and lemon juice to the strained pineapple mixture and stir well.
  13. For an extra-smooth juice, strain the mixture one more time.
  14. Add the cane sugar and vanilla sugar, if using, and stir until completely dissolved.
  15. Refrigerate until well chilled before serving.

Tips

  • Choose ripe, sweet pineapples for the best flavor.
  • Adjust the sugar according to the sweetness of your fruit.
  • Serve over ice for a refreshing tropical drink.
  • Garnish with fresh mint, orange slices, or pineapple wedges.
  • For a lighter juice, simply add more cold water after straining.

Approximately 5 to 6 liters (20–24 servings)

Storage

Store in clean bottles in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
