Homemade Pineapple Yogurt

Ingredients

For the Yogurt Base

  • 1 kg powdered milk
  • 1 sachet Domo Ice Cream Powder
  • 1 sachet yogurt starter culture or (½ cup (120 g) Greek yogurt)
  • 1 L lukewarm water
  • 1 L ml hot water (to create a warm mixture, not boiling)
  • Zest of 1 lime

For the Pineapple Flavor

  • 2 large ripe pineapple
  • Pineapple flavoring to taste
  • Milk flavoring, optional
  • Vanilla extract or vanilla sugar, to taste
  • Powdered sugar (icing sugar), to taste
  • Yellow food coloring (optional)

 

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Yogurt Base

In a large bowl, combine:

  • Powdered milk
  • Domo Ice Cream Powder

Mix well.

Add 1 L of lukewarm water and whisk until smooth.

Add the lime zest.

Stir in the yogurt starter or Greek yogurt.

Gradually pour in 1 L of hot water, whisking continuously until the mixture is smooth.

The mixture should be warm, never hot.

If necessary, strain to remove any lumps.

 

  1. Ferment the Yogurt

Cover the bowl tightly.

Wrap it with a clean towel and place it in a warm area of your home.

Allow it to ferment for 8–12 hours, or until thickened.

 

  1. Prepare the Pineapple

Wash the pineapple thoroughly.

Peel and cut into chunks.

Blend or juice the pineapple, can add 2-3 cups of water.

Pour the juice into a saucepan and cook over medium-low heat for several minutes.

Remove from the heat and allow it to cool completely.

Refrigerate the pineapple juice for about 8 hours until well chilled.

 

  1. Combine

Whisk the fermented yogurt until smooth.

Gradually pour the chilled pineapple juice into the yogurt while whisking continuously.

Mix until fully incorporated.

Add:

  • Pineapple flavoring
  • Vanilla extract or vanilla sugar
  • Powdered sugar, to taste
  • Milk flavoring (optional)
  • Yellow food coloring (optional)

Mix until smooth and creamy.
