Crispy Air Fryer Chicken Wings

Ingredients
- 20halfchicken wingsAbout 20 whole chicken wings, cleaned with lime and cut in half
- 1teaspoonsalt (or to taste)
- 1tablespoonsoy sauce
- ½ teaspooncayenne pepper
- 1teaspoongarlic powder
- ½ teaspoonlemonJuice of lemon
- 1teaspoonpaprika
- ½ teaspoonblack pepper or white pepperfresh, chopped(for garnish)
- 1teaspoondried basil leaves
- 1teaspoonDijon mustard
- 1tablespoons sparkling water(Optional) A few tablespoons of sparkling water for extra crispiness
- 2cupsall-purpose flour
- 1teaspoonsalt
- 1teaspoongarlic powder
- 1teaspoon paprika
- ½teaspooncayenne pepper
- ½teaspoonblack pepper or white pepper
- 1teaspoondried basil leaves
Special Notes
- For extra-crispy wings, lightly spray or brush oil on top before air frying.
- You can also toss them in your favorite sauce (like honey garlic, BBQ, or spicy glaze) after cooking.
Instructions
Clean the chicken wings with lime and rinse well. Cut them in half (flats and drumettes). Add salt, soy sauce, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, lemon juice, paprika, pepper, dried basil, and Dijon mustard. Mix well to coat the chicken evenly.
(Optional) Add a little sparkling water to the seasoned chicken, this helps create an airy, crisp texture. Cover and let marinate for about 30 minutes.
In a separate bowl, combine flour with all the seasonings listed above. Mix well.
Toss the marinated wings in the seasoned flour, coating each piece evenly. Shake off any extra flour.
Arrange wings in a single layer (don’t overcrowd). Air fry for 20–25 minutes on 350° turning halfway through, until golden brown and crispy.
